The course contains theoretical and practical elements. This course provides theoretical knowledge and practical training in aircraft sheet metal repair and structural maintenance, including material identification, fasteners, tooling, damage prevention, drilling and riveting techniques, repair methods for aircraft structural components, protective coatings, sealants, and basic fabrication processes in accordance with aviation maintenance practices.
- Target Group
Entry level technicians, engineers involved in maintenance and repair of aircraft metal constructions
- Prerequisites
Basic English, aviation-related technical vocabulary and general technical understanding is desired (training is delivered in the English language).
- Training objectives
During this training, students will develop basic practical skills and gain an understanding of fabricating and repairing sheet metal structures. Upon completion of the training, students will be capable of assisting experienced structures technicians in both aircraft line and base maintenance environments.
- Examination
Examination (MCQ test) will be carried out at the end of the theoretical element.
Practical assessment will be carried out at the end of the practical element. - Completion standard
Minimum participation: 90%
Minimum pass mark per examination: 75%.
Practical assessment should be passed successfully. - Certification
