Magnetic Experience: interview with Martin Paberit

09.12.2021

Martin Paberit participation in the Magnetic Apprenticeship program brought him much more than just valuable aircraft mechanic skills - Martin recently received the Public's Choice award at Estonia's Best Intern 2021 competition! We were curious to learn more about his experience and sat down with Martin to hear his insights on working as an intern in Magnetic Group!

Why did you choose to pursue a career in aviation?

I have been interested in aircraft and flying since my first flying experience in 2004. Nevertheless, for the longest time, I did not seriously consider working in the aviation industry as a possible outcome of the future. However, after some time of working at an "office" job, I reached a point where the job could not offer me anything new anymore. Thus, I started missing the fulfilment in work, and I felt stuck in my comfort zone. Consequently, I started thinking about studying something related to aircraft and aviation and finding a job in the industry. At this point, I had an ultimate goal to have a career in aviation.

What did you know about Magnetic before you joined? What did you like/dislike the most during the experience with us?

At my previous job, one of my colleagues worked in Air Maintenance Estonia (AME) before and was kind to organize an excursion - at that time, there was only a current Line hangar in use.  I do not remember it clearly, but I believe that there was an Estonian Air Embraer aircraft inside the hangar that I had the opportunity to visit. And since the company became Magnetic MRO, I have also heard about it being the company of the year in 2017.

I like the most people I am working with, especially my current team. Although the majority of the people in Magnetic are very friendly and helpful, of course, there are some things that I do not enjoy, as well as some areas for improvement. However, I believe that the best way to tackle these issues - is to share problems and suggestions directly with the responsible people – and these changes happen!

What are your career aspirations?

Currently, I wish to become a B1.1 licenced mechanic, and after that, who knows? Only the sky is the limit.

Martin Paberit with Risto Mäeots, CEO at Magnetic MRO.
