Magnetic Creative Achieves EASA-Approved STC for In-Seat Power Supply System Installation on Embraer ERJ 190

18.08.2023

Magnetic Creative, a part of the Magnetic Group, is proud to announce it has successfully obtained an EASA-approved STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) for Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS). This milestone marks a significant advancement in the enduring partnership with SAS and highlights our expertise in integrating USB systems into Embraer aircraft.

The recently-finalized STC project reflects the Part 21J team's commitment to delivering stand-out solutions. The delivery involved the reconfiguration of the passenger cabin of Embraer ERJ 190 series aircraft to a single class 122 PAX all economy LOPA (Layout of Passenger Accommodation).

In-Seat Power Supply System (ISPSS) components were installed, requiring a comprehensive modification aimed at providing SAS passengers with an enhanced travel experience. This turnkey solution also included manufacturing parts by our production organization (Part 21G) and delivering part-kits for the final assembly. New seats and an ISPSS system will ensure maximum comfort and convenience throughout the journey, allowing passengers to stay connected and powered up, so SAS passengers can now enjoy a seamless in-flight experience.

Zuzana Obračajová, Sales Director at Magnetic Creative, expressed her gratitude and stated: "Design team's expertise was put to use during the modification process, needing rigorous testing, meticulous attention to detail, and effective collaboration. The team’s work is highly-appreciated and indicative of more similar and one-of-a-kind projects in the future. We would also like to express our gratitude to SAS for their trust and long-term partnership throughout this process. Working together to bring this exciting enhancement to their passengers has been a pleasure.  We are confident that this STC will elevate the in-flight experience, setting new standards in comfort and convenience.“

This innovation-driven solution and its placement into Embraers showcases the robust relationship between Magnetic Creative and SAS and underlines their dedication to delivering outstanding solutions to their clients.

Mia Jakobsson, Director of Aircraft Trading at SAS, remarked, "Installing this USB system on an Embraer for the first time, coupled with the introduction of these new seats, enables our passengers to enjoy the enhanced experience and a Scandinavian feeling, in line with the rest of the SAS fleet. All thanks to the Magnetic team for the good collaboration and for making this project a success!"
