In September 2020, Magnetic Engineering signed a CAMO service agreement with regional aircraft leasing company TrueNoord for delivery of two of their CRJ900 type aircraft from a previous operator and all engineering services related to maintaining the aircraft in an airworthy and controlled environment. 

The aircraft were long-term stored and maintained in co-operation with Direct Maintenance in Magnetic Group premises at Tallinn Lennart Meri airport until 2022 spring, after which the return to service along with full ARC reviews was performed prior to the aircraft delivery to their next operator – South-African based CemAir.

The storage period of the aircraft has been long – the return to service date was unknown due to the pandemic and, therefore, lower activity of operators during the period. Thus Magnetic Engineering team had to meet a variety of challenges – from constant re-evaluation to challenges posed by the severe weather conditions, the team had to be able not just to maintain its airworthiness but also to showcase agile reaction to changing conditions that influenced such actions as check flights.

Surely, the whole Magnetic Engineering team had felt a hint of pride once these two aircraft took off to start a new chapter in their operations – and we are also very happy with the co-operation with TrueNoord, who, as they put it, “are very satisfied with the CAMO services provided by the Magnetic team”.
